If a bridged token is missing, check the destination network and transfer status first; it may have arrived under a different token contract. A bridge transfer has two on-chain stages: the source network records the send, then the destination network releases or creates the corresponding asset. A successful first stage does not prove the second is complete.
SpookySwap token swaps let you use an asset once it is available on the destination network, but a swap cannot complete a bridge transfer. If you started from SpookySwap, keep the source transaction hash and the selected destination network handy; those tell you where to check next.
Check these four things first
- Destination network: Is your wallet showing the chain you selected?
- Destination transaction: Has the bridge completed its second stage?
- Token contract: Did the asset arrive under a different contract address?
- Wallet display: Is the token present on-chain but hidden in the wallet?
Work through these checks in order. They separate a delayed transfer from an asset that has arrived but is not visible in your wallet.
Did the destination transaction finish?
Open the bridge’s transfer history or status page and look up the transfer using its source transaction hash. The source transaction shows that your wallet sent the asset; the bridge status or destination explorer shows whether the destination transaction completed. A transfer marked pending may still be waiting for confirmations, relaying, or a manual claim.
For example, Mara bridges 40 USDC and sees the source transaction succeed, but no balance change on the other chain. She checks the bridge status before sending anything else. If it says “claim required,” she follows the claim action in the bridge interface and checks the destination transaction afterward; if it says “pending,” she waits for that route’s status to change.
If the destination transaction failed, check the bridge’s instructions for that specific route before retrying. If the bridge says the transfer completed but you cannot find a destination transaction, use the bridge’s official support channel with the source hash. Do not share your recovery phrase or sign an unrelated transaction to “release” funds.
Are you viewing the right token?
Bridges can deliver a wrapped or bridged representation whose contract address differs from the token you sent. Search the destination explorer for your wallet address and the destination transaction; check the token name, amount, and contract shown there. A familiar symbol alone is not enough to identify a token, since different contracts can use the same symbol.
If the explorer shows the expected balance but your wallet does not, switch the wallet to the destination network and import the token using the contract address from the bridge or another trusted official source. On SpookySwap, the same rule applies: choose the destination network and verify the token contract before swapping. A token listed on one chain does not automatically appear as the same asset on another.
What if the transfer is complete but the token still cannot be used?
A visible balance does not guarantee a token has an active market or can be swapped on that chain. Check that the token has a pool or route on the destination exchange, and confirm that you hold the chain’s native gas token for transaction fees. Without gas, you may see the bridged asset but be unable to approve or trade it.
If the bridge status is complete, the explorer shows the right token at your address, and your wallet is on the destination network, the transfer has arrived. Add the verified token to your wallet display, then check its available trading route and gas requirements before acting.
